The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of Kittitas County announces two Special Meetings in accordance with RCW 42.30.080 to be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 and at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014. These Special Meetings will be held in the Trinal Manor Conference Room, located on the 2nd floor, which is accessible by the elevator. Trinal Manor is located at 107 W. 11th Ave, Ellensburg. The Housing Authority of Kittitas County (HAKC) is seeking a highly qualified leader and motivated individual to plan, organize and direct all operations and activities of HAKC as the budgetary and political environment is in continual fluctuation. The successful applicant must clearly demonstrate the ability to position the organization for continued success as a leading provider of affordable housing in Kittitas County, Washington. The Board of Commissioners is looking to fill the position with an individual possessing a proven background in experience, education, innovation, organizational and team building ability to successfully lead HAKC to a strong and productive future in an extremely regulatory environment. HAKC offers 161 units of affordable housing operated under HUD’s Low Rent Housing Program (110 units) and a Multifamily program (51 units). The units are located in seven different sites – two in the city of Kittitas and the balance in the City of Ellensburg.

 

Kittitas County is located in the geographical center of Washington State and is bordered by mountains and the Columbia River. The population eclipsed 40,000 during the 2010 Census. The Kittitas Valley is a sportsman’s paradise with tremendous recreational opportunities from River to Mountain. Ellensburg is located 106 miles from downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. Ellensburg is home to Central Washington University and its nearly 10,000 student population and the nationally recognized Ellensburg Rodeo held Labor Day Weekend along with the award winning Kittitas County Fair. Kittitas County is a fabulous area to raise a family with wonderful educational opportunities, historical communities, cultural experiences, rural character and family friendly atmosphere.

 

The salary and comprehensive benefits package including a significant contribution toward health and dental coverage, vacation package starting at 15 paid days per year are commensurate with experience.
